Genghis’ research interest includes the discovery and reporting of novel blood group antigens and complex red blood cell phenotypes. He investigates blood group incompatibilities associated with haemolytic transfusion reaction and haemolytic disease of the fetus and newborn. He is also interested in the distribution of clinically significant red cell and platelet antigens in different population groups.
Genghis received his PhD from Griffith University examining blood group gene variants and their contribution to blood group diversity.
